Our Story

Our Beginnings

Thurow’s Lawn & Marine was founded in 1980, by Al and Joan Thurow with it’s first location in downtown Mukwonago. In 1985, the shop moved to its more memorable location on Edgewood Drive, on the outskirts of Mukwonago. David first started working in the shop at just 8 years old, and grew up learning everything he needed to know about the business. Operating as a true family business, the Thurows strived to become a family name in Mukwonago and valuable members of the community. Al and Joan retired in 2000, leaving the business to close, as they moved to Florida full time.

Our Present

After 10 months of working for the man, David decided to reopen the family business under the same ideals as his parents, but a different name. Thurow’s Mobile Marine Repair was created and operated out of his family’s home for 2 years. During this time, the whole family pitched in and helped where they could. David moved the business to a small storage unit in Eagle, eventually expanding it to larger storage units until he was able to build a shop of his own. To this day, Thurow’s Mobile Marine Repair is located in Eagle, right next door to the storage units that helped get him to where he is today. Taking a visit to the shop now, the business has expanded to include the main shop, 2 indoor storage facilities, and an outdoor storage yard.
